If you have less than a week available, this is an ideal route to have a little taste of the Veneto region. Start cycling in Mestre, the mainland of Venice, and jump back in time admiring the countryside villas of the ancient Venetian nobility along the Brenta Canal. Relax in the enchanting landscape of the Euganean Hills, dotted with gardens and castles. Vicenza, the city of the famous Renaissance architect Andrea Palladio, welcomes you for the last night of the tour.

What awaits you
An easy week of cycling suitable for everyone. The route is almost all flat. You ride on low-traffic back roads and bike paths. More care should be taken when entering and leaving towns, as there can be more traffic.
1. Arrival in Mestre, the mainland of Venice.
2. From Mestre to the green of the Euganean Hills
In the morning you leave Mestre and start cycling into the Veneto countryside through rural villages on quiet roads, following the Brenta Canal, overlooked by the villas of the ancient Venetian nobility. You can admire Villa Valmarana and Villa Seriman Widmann-Foscari in Mira, Villa Pisani and Villa Foscarini Rossi in Stra, Villa Giovanelli in Noventana. Arriving at the foothills of the Euganean Hills, an evening of relaxation awaits you in Europe’s largest spa area, in a village nestled in the green hills of the Euganean Hills regional park.
Shorten the stage You have the option of shortening the stage by taking a train from Mestre station to Padua, or from Padua to Battaglia Terme/Terme Euganee-Abano-Montegrotto.
3. Round tour in the Euganean Hills - gardens, villas and castles
Today you have the chance to explore the Regional Park of the Euganean Hills and its beautiful attractions. Start by visiting the gardens of Villa Barbarigo in Valsanzibio, which is one of the most important examples of a classical Italian garden and even features a real labyrinth. After that, explore the medieval towns of Arquà Petrarca and Monselice, known for its town walls. Follow the cycle path of the Vigenzone canal to reach the hamlet of Pontemanco with its mills. Continue through Mezzavia, where the Castle of San Pelagio houses the Air Museum showcasing the history of human flight, from Leonardo da Vinci to the Mongolfier brothers to Neil Armstrong. On your way back, don’t forget to visit the Catajo Castle.
4. Cycling in the Venetian plain to Vicenza
As you leave the Euganean Hills, make your way toward the Bacchiglione River embankment, which will lead you to Vicenza, today’s destination. Just before entering the city, be sure to take in the sights of Villa Capra (also known as the Rotonda), considered Palladio’s masterpiece villa, and Villa Valmarana ai Nani, which features a grand fresco cycle by Tiepolo.
5. End of tour in Vicenza
Before leaving Vicenza, you have the opportunity to visit the city again, perhaps taking in a few sights you didn’t have time to see when you arrived. Also, for those who prefer shopping, bear in mind Vicenza’s centuries-old goldsmith tradition, which has given it the title of “city of gold” and international fame. A real gem!

Cancellation policy
In the event of unavoidable and extraordinary circumstances occurring at the place of destination or in its immediate surrounding area and having a substantial impact on the execution of the package or on the transport of travellers towards the destination, the traveller has the right to withdraw from the agreement before using the package, without paying withdrawal costs.

Our e-bike is the right choice if you do not feel trained enough to spend more days on a saddle. You can easily adjust the assistance of the electric motor: from a mild pedaling support, to a more intense boost, which is especially useful on starts and uphill climbs. - buy a mobile phone holder in sports shops or major e-commerce outlets: for € 18-25 we recommend the models that clamp your mobile phone and its case like a vise.
- order the best product on the market, SP Connect™ with a special discount. The SP Connect™ mount is attached to the handlebar and works only with a special phone case. This case, which can also be used in everyday life, is slightly thicker than normal cases and is fixed to the handlebar mount with a simple click. The main advantage is that it is easy to attach and remove your phone, so you can immediately use it to take pictures or make calls, as well as grab it quickly when you want to stop cycling and have a break. Also, there are many other available accessories, including those for your car and writing desk. By plane
Mestre is connected with the following airports:
Venice: 10 km, Treviso: 35 km, Verona 120 km, Trieste 120 km.
From Venezia Marco Polo airport (VCE):
- ATVO shuttle bus or bus ACTV line 15 to Venezia Mestre train station (approx. 20/25 min)
From Treviso Canova airport (TSF):
- taxi or Airlink shuttle bus to Treviso train station. From here train to Venezia Mestre train station (approx. 30 min)
- alternatively, ATVO shuttle bus to Venezia Mestre train station (approx. 1 hour)
From Verona Villafranca Catullo airport (VRN):
- Airlink shuttle bus to Verona Porta Nuova train station (approx. 15 min). From here train to Venezia Mestre train station (approx. 60/120 min)
From Trieste Ronchi dei Legionari airport (TRS):
- train directly from the airport to Venezia Mestre train station (approx. 1,5 hours)

By train
Venezia Mestre is the closest train station. For further information on timetables and prices you can consult the Trenitalia official website.
By car
If you arrive by car, you can park in Mestre for the whole duration of the tour. Some hotels have a private parking place or garage, while in other cases you have to use alternative car parks. No reservation is possible and you have to pay on site. You’ll receive all relevant information in the Final Tour Details.

Vicenza is connected with the following airports: Verona: 60 km, Venice: 80 km, Treviso: 90 km, Bergamo: 165 km, Milano Malpensa: 250 km.
To get to Verona Villafranca Catullo airport (VRN):
- Train from Vicenza to Verona Porta Nuova train station (approx. 1 hour). From here Airlink shuttle bus to the airport (approx. 15 min)
To get to Venezia Marco Polo airport (VCE)
- Train from Vicenza to Venezia Mestre train station (approx. 30min/1 hour). From here ATVO shuttle to the airport (approx. 10 min)
To get to Treviso Canova airport (TSF):
- Train from Vicenza to Treviso train station (approx. 1 hour). From here Airlink shuttle bus to the airport
To get to Bergamo Orio al Serio airport (BGY):
- Train from Vicenza to Brescia (direct connections or with change in Verona Porta Nuova, approx. 60/90 min). From here shuttle bus to the airport (approx. 1 hour)

- Train from Vicenza to Milano Centrale (direct connections or with change in Verona Porta Nuova, approx. 1.5/2 hours). From here train to the airport (approx. 1 hour).
Documents
If you are a citizen of the EU or of a Schengen country – i.e. most EU countries and four European Free Trade Association (EFTA) member states, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland – you are free to travel to other Schengen countries without having to go through border controls.

- Due to organisational reasons, weather conditions or provisions issued by local authorities, the itinerary may be subject to some changes before and/or during your holiday. For example, along the way you may find temporary deviations caused by roadworks, which cannot be foreseen; in this case please follow the indications you will find on site.
Special diets
- If you are vegetarian, gluten-intolerant, allergic to some specific ingredients/substances or if you suffer from any other kind of allergies please indicate it at the moment of booking. We will pass the information on to the hotels, but we cannot guarantee that all dietary requests will be met. Sometimes it is difficult to find particular food, for example gluten-free food, so we suggest that you bring your own snacks just in case.
Travel insurance
- It is advisable to take out an insurance policy against expenses arising from cancellation of the tour package, accidents, luggage (loss and damage), as well as a contract covering expenses in case of repatriation. Insurance policies are not included in the tour package offered by the operator.
